The Museum Godthaab Hammerværk is a rare example of a former Danish industrial company. The Zinck family produced tools and utensils at Godthaab Hammerværk for 5 generations from 1858 to 1985.
The products created at the mill are still sold, but now as a part of Fiskars assortment. The listed buildings hold the original shop with restored machinery, which was all driven by waterpower.
A permanent exhibition shows various tools and instruments that have been produced at the iron mill along with a display of the original machines - all driven by water power. All machines have been restored and are still functioning and working when the museum is open. https://www.visitaalborg.com/aalborg/plan-your-trip/godthaab-hammervaerk-museum-gdk596539
Since 1987, a number of artists have left their mark on the lovely Park of Music, which is located in Kildeparken, by planting a tree to commemorate their visit in Aalborg. There are currently 94 trees.
Sir Cliff Richard was the first artist to plant a tree in Kildeparken in 1987 when he performed in Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre. Since then, many more trees and artists have joined and today, more than 80 great artists have left their mark on the park with oaks and wild cherry trees. https://www.visitaalborg.com/aalborg/plan-your-trip/park-music-gdk596452
The impressive Utzon Center is a vibrant cultural center located in Aalborg waterfront. The center was designed by the famous Danish architect Jorn Utzon, who was raised in Aalborg, and his son Kim.
The center hosts different exhibits throughout the year and presents sketches and designs by Jorn Utzon. However, the center is much more than simply exhibitions. It is a display of art, architecture and design, completely in the spirit of Jorn Utzon.
The exhibitions consist of Jørn Utzon’s own architecture and design works, as well as examples of the national and international cultural legacy that he is part of. The many experimenting activities at the Utzon Center will also contribute to its role as an exciting cultural powerhouse. http://www.visitaalborg.com/ln-int/utzon-center-gdk596163
