We spent more than half of my birthday at the Casillero del Diablo winery in Santiago, drinking wine and having a great time! What else would you want to do on your birthday?
Casillero del Diablo is the largest winery in Santiago. It's truly massive, nothing like the ones in Hunter Valley, where you're served wine made somewhere far away and the vineyards are just for show. Here, the vineyards stretch for hundreds of meters and are actually part of the winery, not just a tourist setup. At Casillero del Diablo, the vineyards extended all the way to the nearest mountain — and that mountain was far off in the distance.

I also liked the cellar; it was very well done. Real barrels, the very ones they bottle the wine from, were all around, and the facilities in general were good, and at the same time it was a decent attraction for tourists. It was interesting.
